This Cookie Policy explains how Tectonica Labs, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, "Tectonica," "we," "us," or "our") use cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Tectonica Organizing Center platform and associated websites (the "Platform"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

3. Cookies We Currently Use
3.1 Vimeo (Functional)
We embed video content hosted on Vimeo. When you load a page containing an embedded Vimeo player, Vimeo may set cookies to enable video playback, remember playback preferences, and collect aggregate viewing statistics. These cookies are set by Vimeo, LLC as an independent controller/processor and are governed by Vimeo's Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy. Cookies are only loaded when the embedded player is present on the page.
3.2 Zoom Event Registration (Functional)
Our event registration popup, used for signing up to Zoom-hosted events, is powered by Zoom Video Communications, Inc. Loading the registration form may set cookies used to process your registration, prevent duplicate submissions, and maintain your session during signup. These are governed by Zoom's Privacy Statement.
4. Cookies We May Use in the Future
As the Platform grows, we intend to implement analytics tools such as Google Analytics (and may add comparable services) to help us understand aggregate usage patterns — for example, which pages are visited, how long users stay, and which features are used most. When implemented:
- These cookies will fall under the Analytics/Performance category above.
- They will only be activated for a given visitor after consent is obtained through our cookie consent banner (for EU/UK/similar jurisdictions) or in accordance with applicable opt-out mechanisms (for US jurisdictions).
- We will update this policy with the specific tool name(s), cookie names, retention periods, and links to the relevant third party's privacy policy (e.g., Google's) before or at the time such tools go live.

5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Platform are placed by third parties (Vimeo, Zoom, and, in the future, analytics providers) when their embedded content or scripts load on our pages. Tectonica does not control these third parties' cookie practices directly; we encourage you to review their respective privacy and cookie policies linked above.
6. Data Retention
Cookie lifespans vary by type and provider — ranging from session-only (deleted when you close your browser) to persistent cookies that remain for a defined period. Specific retention periods for each cookie will be listed once available.

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies evolves, including when we add analytics or other tracking tools. We will post the updated policy with a revised "Last Updated" date and, where required by law, seek renewed consent.
